Purported Pictures Of the Samsung Galaxy S IV for China Surface

Update: Looking at the texture on the front and back of the device (visible on most pictures but especially on the last two images below), it appears to be the exact same pattern used by Samsung in its press invite for the event, lending more credence to these images.

Update 2: According to the comments below it appears that some people have actually seen the alleged Galaxy S IV in the wild and confirm the looks are the same as depicted in the images.

One of the things that many people expect from the next Samsung Galaxy S IV is a new design. Samsung overused the aspect of the S III from last year in its flagship, the Note II, and just about any other phone the company released. With the upcoming New York launch on the 14th, the rumor mill is in motion and today’s alleged pictures try to shed more light on the matter.

No, the device in the image is not the Galaxy S IV but allegedly a special Chinese dual-SIM version of the upcoming S IV, dubbed the GT-I9502. Are the images legit? That’s up to you to decide, though we’re inclined to say yes.

We have shots of both a black and white variant and it appears that there is some sort of texture (at least visually) on both devices (think Nexus 4, Optimus G Pro, etc.).

Aside from the device pictures there are also some benchmark results and from the list of components we can identify the Exynos 5410 SoC, which is the octa-core one, running at 1.8GHz (max) aided by PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, 2GB of RAM, Full HD display, microSD card slot, and Android 4.2.1 with TouchWiz on top of it.

Now, after all that info, dar we say that there’s a chance the S IV will not end up looking like the device in the images? Don’t get us wrong, the phone captured above appears to be a working device, but from last year’s experience, when Samsung seeded multiple designs out for safety, we’ve learned to be a bit skeptical.
