Sony unveiled the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL at CES in January. As far as specifications go, the two smartphones rival some of the best phones announced this year so far. The Xperia Z features a 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage with a microSD card slot, 13.1-megapixel camera, 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,330mAh battery.
But that’s not all the Xperia Z has up its sleeve. It also has a dustproof and waterproof coating to keep out those dangerous and pesky elements. And the design of the Z is exceptional. Its hard lines, metal trim and smooth glass are all reminiscent of some of the best designed phones to date. Our Xperia Z review unit arrived today, so I unboxed it for your viewing pleasure.
