Back in mid-February we saw info on a Sony model C6802 show up through a browser compatibility test, hinting at a forthcoming C680X series of Androids. The Xperia Z is the C660X series, so we wondered at the time if we’d also be learning about a C670X series. Now a new rumor has arrived attempting to outline the C670X, describing it as a 4.8-inch 1080p handset.
Besides moving to a smaller, higher-density screen like the HTC One’s, the C670X would also offer an increase in processing power over the five-inch 1080p Xperia Z. Unlike many of the other full HD models we’re hearing about, the Xperia Z runs a Snapdragon S4 Pro; the C670X would supposedly move that up to a Snapdragon 600.
Additional hardware specs attributed to this model include a 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of flash. It’s supposed to launch sometime this summer, but there’s no word yet on any specific carrier affiliation.
The image above may be the C670X, and though it was found in Xperia Z materials, it’s clearly something different – the camera’s on the wrong side, for one. It might be the C670X, maybe the C680X, or possibly something else entirely.
