Nokia’s Rumored Aluminum “Catwalk” May Debut on T-Mobile

While Nokia brought its Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 to the Mobile World Congress, there were a few rumored models we had been hearing about that didn’t manage to make an appearance. Those include the highly-anticipated introduction of Nokia’s 41-megapixel PureView tech to Windows Phone with the handset codenamed Eos, as well as a Lumia 920 variant for Verizon and a model that ditches Nokia’s polycarbonate construction for aluminum, which we’ve heard called Catwalk. Back in early January, The Verge first broke the news on Catwalk, and yesterday afternoon in a summary on Nokia’s Windows Phone lineup, the site casually dropped another tidbit: that Catwalk is coming to T-Mobile this summer.

That T-Mobile part was absent from the original Catwalk rumor, and it’s surprising to see info on not just the carrier, but the specific launch window of summer, presented as such a minor aside.

T-Mobile’s been struggling over the past year, so an attractive model like Catwalk sounds like it could be a nice boon for the carrier. Currently, its Windows Phone 8 lineup consists of the Nokia Lumia 810 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X.
