New Sony 1080p C6802 Android Spotted Doing Browser Test

Sony premiered its first two 1080p Android smartphones back at the CES, the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL. While those should serve as the company’s flagships for the time being, some new evidence has just arrived that Sony could already be hard at work testing out a possible successor to these phones, another 1080p handset so far only identified as model C6802.

For comparison, the Xperia Z and its variants use C660X numbering, and the Xperia ZL uses C650X. We’ll probably also see some C670X models, followed by C680Xs like this.

There’s really little info to glean from this screenshot of the browser test that reveals this model, besides that it’s apparently running Android Jelly Bean 4.2. A couple potential codenames for this device are Togari and Gaga, but there’s not much to directly link either to this model number. There’s also the chance the C6802 could end up being the phone (if you can call it that) to use the giant six-inch-plus screen we saw last month.
