Spotify Could Soon Be Available for Windows Phone 8
As streaming music services for smartphones go, Spotify is easily one of the better ones, and we were happy both to see it finally become available to users in the US back in the summer of 2011, followed just a few months later by the launch of its Windows Phone app. That was well and good for a while, but with the launch of Windows Phone 8, the old app just wouldn’t cut it anymore. Luckily for all your WP8 music fans, it sounds like you’ll soon once again be rocking out, with rumors now circulating that WP8 Spotify is nearly here.
Supposedly, Spotify have finished work on their WP8 app and submitted it to Microsoft for approval. This news comes from an employee with UK carrier Three, tweeting that he has the news “on good authority” from an unknown source.
Sure, there are other ways for WP8 users to get their music fix, but if you’re already a Spotify subscriber, and have been waiting the past several months for the company to get around to releasing a WP8 app, this could be great news.
Update: And a beta release of Spotify for Windows Phone 8 is now available.
