We’re less than two weeks away from when HTC has scheduled its next press event, when we’re hoping that the company will unveil the M7 we’ve been hearing so many rumors about lately, as well as catching a brief glimpse of it in the hands of company CEO Peter Chou. As we eagerly await that event and the news it brings, HTC has been sending out a new teaser ad to the German press and, well… it’s more than a little odd.
The depiction of what appears to be a human heart bonding with a printed circuit board promises that HTC’s next big product will soon be “alive”. While the proximity to the scheduled press event has us thinking that this might be M7-related, HTC could always be going down a different path here. We’ve also recently seen the company tease big developments in its sound and camera technologies, and it wouldn’t be too big a stretch to suggest that a richer media experience like that could be promoted as bringing our phones “alive.” Maybe just a macabre Valentine’s Day reference?
Whatever it means, it’s still a pretty bizarre image to use to try and get us excited about smartphones.
