Sony’s HuaShan — interestingly, Huashan was also the name of an HTC phone for China — with model number C530x will probably be soon unveiled as the Xperia SP. The list, which appears of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information’s website, also seems to list a certain Xperia L.
According to reports, the Xperia SP should be the higher-end among the two, packing a 720p display, and a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocking at 1.7GHz. The Xperia L, according to the same report, could be equipped with a FWVGA display of 480 × 854 pixels, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
After the flagship models unveiled at CES, the Xperia Z and XL, these two models could be mid-rangers to fill in the gap in the manufacturer’s line-up. We might or might not see these phones on display at MWC but nonetheless we’ll be on the lookout.
Update: As pointed out in the comments below, the above reported specs for the Xperia SP more or less match those of the Xperia SL. Either it will be just a variant for the Indonesian market or the rumored specs are not accurate.
