Progress Looking Good on Long-Awaited iOS 6 Jailbreak Release
Earlier this week, following Apple’s launch of iOS 6.1, we told you about how all signs were pointing to the release of an untethered jailbreak supporting all the latest iPhone and iPad models for this Sunday. Team evad3rs has since put up a website to keep interested iOS users up to date on their progress towards getting the code ready for a release, and by the looks of things, that Sunday estimate could well be within their reach.
We now know that the jailbreak itself will be called evasi0n, and according to the team, they’re about 68% of the way done from starting with the exploit itself and packaging a polished jailbreak ready for release. The most recent update shares the news that the installer apps for both Windows and Mac computers are all ready to go, and the next step will be putting together a similar Linux program.
After that, they’ll be a quick private beta in order to make sure everything’s going smoothly, and if no unexpected issues pop up, the jailbreak just might be ready to go public by the strongly-hinted-at February 3 date.
