Despite previous rumors according to which Google will unveil a new family of LG-made Nexus devices at its yearly I/O, we sounded our beliefs on our Podcast that it was too early for a Nexus phone and, instead, we’ll probably see a Nexus 7 refresh. According to a recent report, Asus and Google have teamed up once again for a seven-inch tablet.
The Nexus 7 follow-up is expected, according to sources in the supply chain, to land in May. May 15-17, 2013, is the date for this year’s Google I/O and could be the perfect opportunity for a follow-up. Those who claim to have seen engineering samples of the next Nexus 7 affirm that it will bring a Full HD display as well as a thinner bezel, all in a more industrial design, at the same price of the first generation Nexus 7. Since we’re talking about a Nexus device, it will definitely pack the latest version of Android, which, according to aforementioned sources, will still be an iteration of Jelly Bean.
