With all we’ve been talking about the Samsung Galaxy S IV, you’d think that news of a Samsung device roadmap leaking would have us seriously excited. Unfortunately, the documents that TechnoBuffalo just got a hold of, purporting to show Samsung’s lineup for the first half of 2013, not only don’t mention the GS4, but give us precious little else to look forward to.
The one item of note here is (no pun intended) the Galaxy Note 8.0. Unfortunately, there’s nothing really new or interesting revealed here, since we’ve already heard these specs before, and now that Samsung has confirmed the tablet’s MWC launch, there’s just no mystery left (barring a pic of the tablet itself, that is).
So, what else is there? It’s a mix of existing Samsung devices, uninteresting feature phones, and a few easily forgettable Androids. The roadmap reveals devices like the Galaxy Young, Galaxy X Cover 2, and the Galaxy Pocket Plus 2, which have such underpowered specs that it hardly feels worth mentioning them. Only the X Cover 2 could barely skate by with its 4-inch WVGA screen, dual-core 1GHz SoC, and five-megapixel camera – that could make a decent lower-end Android, so long as it’s priced cheaply enough. It should arrive sometime next month, but your guess is as good as ours on where.
