LG just recently announced that it managed to sell one million units of its Optimus G smartphone since its introduction last year in September 18. Following that growing trend the South Korean phone maker reportedly snatched the second place on the U.S. smartphone market.
The Counterpoint Research report places Samsung on the to spot with its with 33 percent of the U.S. market in December 2012, followed now by LG and its own 13 percent, pushing down Apple to the third place with 12 percent. After the unveiling of the iPhone 4S, LG has been pushed to the third place but is now, thanks mostly to the Optimus G, getting back to the second spot.
