Huawei was one of the companies that took best advantage of the CES to show off new smartphones, while so many others neglected to have any big news of their own. Just because the company has already announced the Ascend D2, Ascend Mate, and Windows-Phone-running Ascend W1 doesn’t mean that Huawei’s out of news, and we’ve just got word of it sending out invitations to a pre-MWC event. So, what can we possibly look forward to it announcing?
While the Ascend W1 made its debut at the CES, it seemed almost like an afterthought, not taking the stage with the company’s Android devices during its main press event. And while the W1 eventually showed up, we didn’t hear anything about the company’s other Windows Phone interests.
There have been a number of rumors and leaks over the past several months concerning a higher-end Windows Phone 8 model, which appears that it will either arrive as the Ascend W2 or the W3. For all we know, there could even be two models, but we expect at least one to finally be unveiled at this MWC event.
Beyond that, Huawei has teased the announcement of a super-thin Android, breaking the current 6.45-millimeter record. Likely to be the Ascend P2, there’s another Huawei MWC treat we can look forward to.
