Last night, we heard about the LG Optimus G Pro through the posting of some supposed specs to a Japanese forum. Based on the sort of hardware they described, the phone’s model number, and even the G Pro name itself, this find set of all sorts of alarm bells in our head that this could be the Optimus G2 we’ve been hearing rumored so much lately. That was all interesting enough on its own, but we really weren’t able to place a whole lot of faith in the validity of those specs, so ultimately it felt more like a curiosity. This morning, we’re finding ourselves looking at all that in a new light, upon the first leaked image purporting to be the G Pro.
More than simply providing us with a picture of the G Pro, this leaked slide lines up very nicely with last night’s specs. Once again, the source is Japanese, and references carrier NTT DoCoMo. Other info like the processor type, screen configuration, and battery capacity also match those specs. Between the two of them, they’re making a much more convincing case for the G Pro’s existence.
Of course, this still leaves the questions of if the G Pro is actually the G2, if we’ll see handsets released under both names, or if the G Pro is the only way the phone will actually arrive. A few more likes like these, and we could be a lot closer to those answers.
