LG Optimus G Pro Specs Rumored; Is This The G2?
There have been plenty of rumors about an LG Optimus G2 over the last couple months, including some claiming that the phone would make its debut at the CES. That didn’t come to pass, but we haven’t forgotten about the handset, and now there’s some expectation that it may show itself at MWC next month. We’ve already heard some of the phone’s specs rumored, but now we may have a full run-down to examine, if this info is to be believed.
Just to be clear here, the provenance behind these specs is super-shaky, having appeared on Japanese forum 2channel. They describe a phone a phone identified as the Optimus G Pro, which very well may be how it’s released, but it seems likely this could be the same G2 we’ve been talking about so far. The phone would supposedly come to NTT DoCoMo as model L-04E, compared to the original Optimus G which was the L-01E.
The phone is described as having a five-inch 1080p display, running a Snapdragon S4 Pro at 1.7GHz, and packing 2GB of RAM alongside 32GB flash storage. Like some variants of the first Optimus G, it would have a thirteen-megapixel main camera. It would supposedly weigh 160g, up from the original’s 145g, and move from a 2100mAh to a 3000mAh battery (which would also bump thickness from 8.5 to 10.1 millimeters). It’s described as launching with Android 4.1.
For now, we’re not quite sure how much faith to put in these claims, so treat them appropriately as very much rumors.
