Apple has confirmed recent reports regarding the departure of its vice president of Retail, Jerry McDougal. McDougal was also a potential candidate for the empty seat as the company’s senior Vice President of Retail. Jim Bean, Apple’s ex-vice president of Finance will be taking over McDougal responsibilities, who resigned earlier this month.

“Jim Bean is moving to Retail to help support our store teams. Jim has been at Apple for 15 years and is a great leader who understands our culture and focus on customer service”, said Steve Dowling, a spokesperson for Apple. The reasons behind McDougal’s resignation are not yet public but people familiar with the matter claim McDougal wants to spend more time with his family.
