As you could have seen from various CES headlines, this year’s Las Vegas show was very much about TVs, as our own boys mentioned in this week’s episode of the Pocketnow Weekly Podcast, recorded on-site. LG’s event was about connected devices as well as a hint at another Nexus, but the South Koreans also brought some new displays to Vegas.
In order of their screen size, these AH-IPS displays are 5.5-, 7-, and 12.9-inches in diagonal, with their respective resolutions of full HD 1080p, 1920 x 1200, and 2560 x 1700. They all use the same technology LG also used in the screens found on Apple’s iPhone and iPad so you know that the color reproduction, brightness and overall quality is excellent.
According to LG, these screens will soon make it into consumer electronics. Expect to see them in gadgets around the middle of this year as development has ended and these displays are waiting to enter mass production.
