Pantech Perception 720p Android Leaked For Verizon

CES is the time of year when we’re used to hearing official announcements, and seeing devices confirmed, not hearing new rumors or getting to check out unofficially-leaked info. Nevertheless, tonight we’ve got a newly-leaked press render from Pantech to show you, featuring what looks like the company’s second 720p Android to come to the US.

Sure, 1080p is all the rage now, but that just means that Pantech is able to put together some 720p devices with lower price points. We saw AT&T announce the 720p Pantech Discover earlier this week, and now this new leak reveals a similar smartphone in the works for Verizon.

The Pantech Perception, like the Discover, has a 720p display and runs a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 (no word on core count). We’re not sure if it’s also a 4.8-inch display like the Discover, but from the  look of this render that seems like the right ballpark.

Supposedly, Verizon will sell the Perception for just $50 on-contract when it launches, which should be sometime this quarter.
