Huawei’s Ascend Mate is, by the manufacturer’s own boasting, the largest-screened smartphone around. Just how big is big, though? We just took a hands-on look at the Ascend Mate to really show you what you can expect from this Android giant.
The Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display, and while it may not have the thinnest bezel on the block, the huge screen gives it what Huawei says is the highest screen-to-frame ratio around. To power this beast, Huawei’s outfitted the Ascend Mate with a 4050mAh battery and employed power-saving technology to give it a longer operational life time than the Galaxy Note II.
As we mentioned in our coverage of the Huawei press event, the Ascend Mate features a UI enhanced for one-handed operation, and a super-sensitive touchscreen lets you operate the phablet even when wearing gloves.
