While we’re still waiting for official numbers as far as activations are concerned for this Holiday season both from Google and Apple (and, why not, Microsoft too), analytics company Flurry has published its own figures which talk about a whopping 17.4 million devices, up 332% from the average December baseline. You can also compare this number with Christmas 2011 when 6.8 million devices were activated.
The interesting bit here is that tablets seem to have overtaken smartphones on December 25th, 51% to 49%. Leading the pack are Apple and its iPad, iPad mini, joined by Amazon and its Kindle Fire HD 7″. The average ratio of month December saw phones leading 80% to 20%. However, it will be interesting to see how the platforms on which these devices are running compete within the total activations chart. Read the entire report at the source below!
