The Android development community may have already brought Jelly Bean and an enhanced version of Samsung’s Multi Window View mode from the Note II to the original Galaxy Note, but enjoying these features means being comfortable enough with your phone to flash and modify a custom ROM. For those of you whose approach to smartphones is a little more pedestrian, you may still be in luck, as Samsung has now confirmed plans to bring the Note not just Jelly Bean, but also a Premium Suite upgrade delivering Multi Window View and other Note II features.
This release was already teased through an early leaked ROM, but it’s still great to see Samsung make things official. While it doesn’t have any ETA to share for when we might hope to see the update arrive, just going public with it in the first place could be a good sign that the wait won’t be overly drawn out.
Beyond Multi Window, the Premium Suite will bring the Note an enhanced S Note app, popup videos and browser, and other features borrowed from the Galaxy S III and Note II.
