Acer Iconia B1 To Compete With Google’s Nexus 7?

The $99 Nexus tablet could turn out to be more expensive, at around $129-$149, while still a very cheap solution. Whether cheap is really a win for the end user aside from being gentle with your pockets is up to anyone to decide. However, Google and ASUS might have competition on the market.

Acer’s Iconia B1 is a seven-inch tablet apparently powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, SIM card slot and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on-board. The resolution is somewhat lower than the Nexus 7, at 1024 x 600 pixels though. While some reports talk about this tablet costing around $99, the Serbian source website specifically mentions 15,000-16,000 Serbian Dinars which equals to approximately $188, still a good price for a tablet with a cellular radio.
