It seems like the end of another embarrassing era for Apple is finally over. Those of you that have gotten lost looking for a Target in a residential area like some of us were fooled recently is now a thing of the past. Google was kind enough to give Apple a pat in the back today, and they’ve now released their Maps application for iOS.
Now, this is not just the return of the previous Google Maps we knew. This is a whole different ball game. It includes Turn-By-Turn navigation and works on the iPhone, though they do mention compatibility with the iPad if you’re willing to deal with the iPhone app on the tablet. You also get Street View and even transit directions along with the rest of Google’s bevy of services all packed in a very elegant design that some of us do consider more elegant than its own Android counterpart or even Apple’s elegant but useless service. The app is free as always so just hit iTunes for your download today before somebody thinks twice about saving Apple’s iPhone 5 glory.
