After updating the YouTube app for iOS last week to add iPad support, Google has now also updated the Android client and, despite the wording on the official Google+ page that says “today we’ve updated our YouTube app for Android tablets”, it only seems to bring the UI refresh for ten-inchers.
Curious that the Nexus 7 is not regarded as a tablet from this particular perspective — after the update, it still displays the good old user interface — but those who have ten-inch slates, like the Nexus 10, will enjoy a brand new experience while searching, browsing and watching videos from the service. Aside from the UI revamp the new YouTube app also brings bugfixes for all devices so if you can’t see the new aspect you’ll at least have a bug free experience.
There is also a brand new website waiting for those who access YouTube’s mobile page; it too gets tablet-optimized looks.
