We’ve been hearing a lot about upcoming ZTE smartphones lately, and while the manufacturer’s name isn’t enough to get many smartphone fans too excited, some of what we’ve seen has been quite interesting. Take, for instance, the rumored 5.9-inch Windows Phone handset, a positively unheard-of size, especially for WP8. Well, we’re still not sure just how real that one might end up being, but the ZTE model we’re looking at today is well on its way to an official unveiling, the five-inch, 1080p ZTE Nubia Z5 Android.
The rest of the specs attached to the Z5 are pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a 1080p Android, including a quad-core S4 Pro and 2GB of RAM. The phone is also supposed to get a quite high-res thirteen-megapixel rear camera.
Add to that a thickness of just 7.6 millimeters, as well as stereo speakers, and ZTE or not, this hardware is starting to sound pretty attractive. The design is nice, if not a bit plain, and we definitely get some HTC One-series flashes when checking out the phone’s back.
ZTE is expected to announce the Nubia Z5 in China later this month.
