Not long ago we’ve heard that Samsung’s ATIV S, the first device announced with Windows Phone 8, was delayed and some regions shouldn’t expect it this year. January 2013 seems to have been the reported availability period for the phone and after the Taiwanese announcement this was pretty much confirmed (with the exception of Samsung Canada that still believes a December 2012 timeframe was possible).
According to new reports based on unnamed sources the phone has been further delayed; this time its appearance should be expected sometime in February of next year. It’s already been a long time since its introduction at IFA 2012 but the open market flavors might appear mid-first-quarter of 2013 (while some regions might get it earlier). We’ve talked about the ATIV S on our podcast and have opined about the situation; now you let us know what you think is the reason behind such a delay.
