The recent job posting from Nokia involving, more or less directly, Android has managed to create some high hopes for those who believe in our five reasons why Android needs Nokia. If you happen to be on the other side of the barricade you’ll probably find six reasons enough for why Nokia doesn’t need Android to succeed.
Doug Dawson, Media Relations head for Nokia, has put an end to Android and Nokia rumors, at least for now, at least regarding the recent job posting. Dawson’s Twitter profile contains a series of tweets meant to clarify things; it turns out that Nokia was looking for someone on the Nokia HERE Maps team and especially support for other platforms, like Android (and iOS). “Nothing more”, Dawson notes. If you’re a die-hard Android and Nokia fan, that shouldn’t stop you from dreaming though. However, it is not happening; not just yet…
