What happened to the HTC One VX on AT&T? The carrier announced the phone, alongside the One X+, back at the beginning of October, and then earlier this month it confirmed that both HTC models would be going up for sale on November 16. Well, that was true enough for the One X+, but the VX never managed to surface. While AT&T has been almost suspiciously quiet about the phone’s (lack of) arrival, at least one carrier spokesperson is now willing to answer questions about the One VX, finally giving us an update as to the handset’s retail launch.
According to this AT&T mouthpiece, the One VX will be available through both online sales and in the carrier’s retail stores as of December 7. That’s well and good, but we’re still quite curious as to just what happened to those November 16 plans. Was this a strategic move, to feature the carrier’s other models more prominently for the start of the holiday shopping season? Was there an availability issue with HTC? Frankly, we might never know, and for the moment we’re just hoping that this new VX update turns out to be accurate.
The One VX is a solid-looking mid-range Android, featuring a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, a five-megapixel camera, and a 4.5-inch qHD display.
