Nokia has officially announced that the company completed the acquisition of earthmine inc., something we have heard about on November 13, when the Finnish manufacturer told us about its cross-platform HERE map plans.
earthmine inc.’s reality capture and processing technologies will become integral parts of the 3D map making capabilities of HERE. However, the exact details of the agreement will remain confidential. Espoo is becoming more and more serious about its mapping solution — after just recently releasing its HERE maps for iOS that quickly became popular – and the above transaction will further improve its offering with earthmine’s 3D information and maps.
