Nokia Releases Here Maps for iOS

The Here maps were announced by Nokia last week and we knew to expect an iOS iteration, among others. It appears that the application is now available in the iTunes App Store for both the iPhone and the iPad. When Apple’s CEO Tim Cook apologized for the poor experience in iOS 6, he offered some alternatives available in the App Store until Apple’s own mapping solutions become what they should have been.

Here maps by Nokia is such an alternative mapping solution (now that Google Maps is no longer the default and a new iteration is yet to arrive) and, according to the description, it brings several map views (map view, live traffic view, public transport line view or satellite view) with the ability to save map areas for offline usage. Maps, search and place coverage are advertised for nearly 200 countries and, among others, there’s also step-by-step voice-guided walk navigation.
