Overnight, we brought you news of a fantastic deal coming up for the Nokia Lumia 920 on AT&T. As if the phone’s on-contract launch price of just about $100 wasn’t nice enough, we caught wind of the carrier’s upcoming Black Friday sale, which would take that already low price and slash it in half. That’s great news if you were waiting to pick up the Windows Phone 8 handset, but what if you had been anxiously awaiting this guy and snatched-up the 920 the second it was available? Are you stuck having to live with paying $100? Not if you call up AT&T, apparently, or so we’re hearing from a number of 920 owners.
After hearing about the upcoming sale, some new 920 owners contacted the carrier on the off chance that it might have a soft spot in its heart for these early adopters, and award them similar savings. Sure enough, reports are coming in that AT&T is being quite generous to 920 owners and crediting their accounts for the $50 difference.
This may not be official policy, but it sure seems to be a common enough occurrence that it’s definitely worth a shot. If you’re already rocking a Lumia 920 on AT&T, point your web browser over to AT&T’s site and see if you can’t find a sympathetic representative through the carrier’s web chat support option. This isn’t a slam dunk, but with a little persistence and a little luck, you could easily get a big notch taken out of your next bill.
