With the HTC J Butterfly for Japan, HTC Droid DNA for Verizon in the US, and hopefully HTC Deluxe internationally, the Taiwanese company has imposed a new target in terms of display specifications. Samsung will definitely respond and, according to recent reports, the South Korean company is already working on a 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display to be shown off at CES.
Report also claims that the 441 ppi display might be part of the Galaxy S IV, a follow-up to Samsung’s flagship expected to be unveiled at the end of Q1, according to some reports, or somewhere in Q2, according to others. The 1080p smartphone market, whether we like it or not, is the next trend in mobile with HTC, Sony and Sharp already in, or planning to be part of it. Also, with the ever growing screens in smartphones Samsung is apparently making the line thinner between smartphones and phablets.
