Yesterday was just full of Windows Phone 8 news out of Verizon. Not only did we learn that the carrier would be kicking-off pre-orders for the HTC 8X and Nokia Lumia 822 as of today, but we also heard about the inclusion of wireless charging support in the 8X’s hardware. Now that Verizon’s taking customer pre-orders, it’s given us an idea of just when these phones will start showing up on customers’ doorsteps.
By and large, Windows Phone 8 pre-orders placed through Verizon will ship by next Tuesday, November 13. That includes both the 8X and the 822, though there is an exception: if you want your HTC 8X in red, Verizon says that you might have to wait until the following week, with those orders expected to ship by November 21.
Ultimately, that’s a much better situation than it could have been; yesterday, Verizon was only willing to say that these phones would all get here sometime before Thanksgiving. A solid week-and-a-half before is a nice treat.
For now, there’s no concrete word on just when retail sales of these phones may begin at Verizon’s stores, though we imagine the timing would largely mirror these ship-by estimates.
