For the past several weeks, we’ve been hearing about a new high-end Sony Android, supposedly being developed as codename Odin. With rumored specs like a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro and a 1080p screen, it seemed likely that this would be Sony’s next flagship model, competing with phones like the HTC Droid DNA we’ve been following for Verizon. A little over a week back, we got a look at what was supposedly the phone’s hardware itself, and to that image we can now add a leaked render that’s just managed to surface.
Indeed, this image matches that previous shot (shown below) nearly perfectly. If someone did go to the trouble of faking this render, they sure put a lot of time into it, as all the little creases, contours, and buttons line up nicely with that in-the-wild pic.
Of course, we’d still love to see a pic of this phone in action, and check out that big, beautiful display we’re expecting. For the moment, we don’t have much of a sense for when Sony might hope to release the handset, but we might end up waiting until early 2013 before we get a chance to see it land.
Update: Well no wonder the render matched the pic so well – they’re apparently BOTH concept renders. For the moment, we’ll just have to keep waiting for more info on the Odin.
