Ever since the HTC J Butterfly went official for Japan, we’ve been awaiting confirmation of how the phone would make its arrival in the US. Last week, we saw a leak out of Verizon which suggested that the five-inch 1080p Android, identified by model number 6435LVW, would launch on the carrier as the HTC Droid DNA. While Verizon has still yet to issue a formal statement, that’s now looking essentially confirmed, as that name has popped-up yet again, this time on the company’s public-facing website.
One of Verizon’s smartphone support pages provides instructions for soft resetting phones which don’t have a user-removable battery. Right there, under the HTC Rhyme, Verizon lists the HTC Droid DNA ADR6435. While the model number is slightly different, that “6435″ makes it clear that we’re still dealing with the same hardware.
Based on the minimum advertised price information in the last leak, we might hope to see Verizon announce the Droid DNA sometime around the week leading up to Thanksgiving, if not slightly earlier.
