Update: After we’ve seen the Android 4.2 keyboard being made available unofficially it is now time for power users who know their way around the system folder, setting permissions, and alike to grab the Photo Sphere bit. Download it here!
When Google announced the LG-made Nexus 4 and the Samsung-made Nexus 10 they did so by also unveiling the next version of Android. Version 4.2, while still maintaining the “Jelly Bean” moniker, brings a couple of interesting and exciting features, like Photo Sphere, a new take on panorama imagery.
The principle is rather similar to how you currently take panorama shots on your phone. However, Photo Sphere takes it a step further by allowing you to add pictures beyond the limitations of the old “horizontal-only” panorama shots. We’ve seen it in action in a demo video on the announcement day and we can take a second look again.
