We just received an email a couple of minutes ago from Google’s Android team in New York City confirming the unfortunate news that they are canceling Monday’s Android event due to the threat of Hurricane Sandy. The event was slated to bring all the new Nexus devices that we’re expecting from Google this holiday season. That includes the rumored LG Nexus 4, an enhanced version of the Nexus 7 made by Asus and the Nexus 10 tablet made by Samsung. It was also rumored that we’d get a new version of Android that would provide an enhanced experience for tablet owners.
Sadly at the moment we still can’t confirm when the event will take place or where. We’ll most likely receive an update later during the weekend or Monday so we’ll keep you posted on the update. Hurricane Sandy is sadly still on track to reach New York City around noon on Monday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all our readers and their families in the affected areas.
