We shook our heads when we heard about that Samsung spokesperson allegedly go on record to tell the world that US variants of the Galaxy S III might have to wait until next year to get the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. The carrier enumeration was lacking Sprint though and this right here could be the reason why.
If the above screenshot is legit than you should be able to upgrade your Sprint Galaxy S III to Google’s latest and greatest today. The process which should start today will reportedly bring a new build L710VPALJ7; however, the date at the very top is followed by a disclaimer that it is subject to change (and we hope this screenshot, if legit, is a rather recent one so that there is no actual delay). Let us know if you’ve received that OTA notification! It always helps to check for its existence manually from the settings.
