The Samsung Galaxy S III is getting its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update as we speak –the Android 4.1.1 version to be more specific– but the manufacturer is rumored to be working on a refresh containing Android 4.1.2, “around December”. Whether Monday brings Android 4.2 or not is yet unknown but if Google decides to unveil it we’d be glad to see that one instead.
However, as they say, you shouldn’t check a gift horse in its mouth and with Android, an update is always welcome, though the sooner the better. Android 4.1.2 on the Galaxy S III is rumored to bring the multi-window feature that is present on the Galaxy Note II. The hardware is definitely capable of that since it is present on the Japanese variant dubbed Galaxy S III Alpha (even if it has double the amount of RAM than the global quad-core variant).
