We know that Galaxy S III devices in more and more regions are getting the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update and the fact that our own, global and unlocked device greeted us with an OTA notification is a solid confirmation. For what it’s worth, our build number before the update was I9300XXBLH1.
Now that the refresh has landed –in the shape of a 282.67MB download– this has been bumped to I9300XXDLIH, as you can see in the screenshot above. Our Geekbench score before the update, while running stock Android 4.0.4, was 1435. After the update, the numbers look better at 1695. Project Butter really makes the phone shine (not that it was a slouch before) and most of the operations are now close to instant.
