With so many fakes and hoaxes floating on the interwebs these days (and coincidentally, of the same maker as this bit right here) it is quite easy to get fooled when looking at images of a phone. Also taking the source of this picture’s first appearance in consideration, which is called Concept-Phones, you won’t judge us too hard if we’re a bit skeptical (hint: if you look at the speaker together with the branding, these are off center; the buttons on the right don’t seem right). It claims to represent the upcoming Sony flagship we’ve heard about recently, dubbed ‘Odin’.
The alleged specs of this device include a five-inch display a la HTC J Butterfly or DIX/DLX, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC aided by the Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean is also reported to be the platform of choice and that five-incher will allegedly display Full HD (1080×1920) resolution which we don’t really understand.
Sony doesn’t have a quad-core phone at the moment so one in the near future is definitely a normal evolution. However, IFA 2012 didn’t bring anything in this department and we’re pretty skeptical that the company will announce something before the Holiday season. Believers are looking forward to CES or MWC but until then let us know in the comments of your opinion on the image attached.
