Apple sent out invites for an October 23 event and the wording implied “a little more”. Everyone seems to have agreed to the fact that the iPad mini was the reason of the invite but it turns out that the smaller tablet is only related to the word “little”. The word “more” seems to refer to a full sized iPad which, according to reports, will also be unveiled.
Reports have it that the pricing for this “refreshed” iPad will be the same as the price of the New iPad: $499, $599, and $699 for WiFi-only variants and $629, $729, and $829 for the cellular option (in their respective internal storage order: 16-, 32-, and 64GB).
The “refreshed” part seems to correspond to some improved specifications, like the addition of a Lightning port, and global LTE support. CPU and memory, screen, as well as the battery could also be improved (all or some) but there is no exact confirmation on this. We’ve already heard of an alleged iPad follow-up but we’ll have to wait three more days until we will find out all about it.
