Nexus 7 rumors have been gaining a lot of steam in recent days, looking into everything from the possibility of a cellular-connected Nexus 7, to one that’s somehow able to sell for a mere $100. By far, the most likely-sounding rumor has been that of a 32GB Nexus 7, and while Google and ASUS have yet to confirm such a model, the circumstantial evidence is nearly overwhelming. Case in point: boxed, ready-for-retail-sale 32GB Nexus 7s are already showing up on store shelves.

These pictures come from a Staples store in the US, where one Android fan was able to snap images not just of the 32GB Nexus 7 packaging, but also of the Staples computer system showing the tablet’s cost. Retailing for just about $250, it’s clear this will be replacing the 16GB Nexus 7 at that price point.

The only think that this leaves us wondering is if the 8GB Nexus 7 will remain up for sale as-is, or if it will be replaced by the 16GB model, knocking its price down to the same $200 level.

Expect to get all the details on new Nexus hardware, including the public announcement of this new tablet option, at Google’s October 29 event.
