One hot and one cold: yesterday we reported on new regions being added to the Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update process and sadly learned that, according to a spokesperson, US variants will probably be the last ones to get the refresh, possibly in 2013. With new regions added in Europe there is no doubt that the roll-out went global.
Ireland, Italy, UK and Switzerland join France, Spain, Romania and Austria as the Android 4.1.1 update starts rolling out. The new set of refreshes are build I9300XXDLJ1 on October 8. Make sure to check manually if you haven’t received the update notification just yet or try hooking your phone to the KIES desktop software. If all else fails try to be patient as your phone will get the firmware sooner or later. Meanwhile you can head over to the source link if you feel adventurous and want to anticipate the roll-out.
Update: Samsung UK has confirmed that the UK international Galaxy S III will receive its Jelly Bean treat by the end of this month.
