There’s been so much talk lately about the Optimus G being the source of the hardware for the rumored Nexus 4, that it’s been easy to forget that the Optimus G is a phone of its own, and one that’s nearly about to arrive. We’ve been expecting the phone for both AT&T and Sprint, and while Sprint issued its own announcement about the Optimus G last week, it still wasn’t ready to provide a release date or pricing. Today, though, AT&T steps forward to finally deliver some answers along those lines, revealing how the Optimus G will make its retail debut.
Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to place an Optimus G pre-order with AT&T. Even with a top-of-the-line quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, AT&T will sell the handset without too much of a premium price tag, letting it go for $200 on-contract.
If pre-ordering isn’t your thing, full-on sales of the Optimus G will start at AT&T on November 2. Chances are, we’ll see Sprint’s release closely mirror that timing, once we get the full word on it.
Are you planning to wait for news of the Nexus 4 before deciding on the Optimus G, or do you think you’ll be jumping at the chance to get an Optimus G once they become available?
