HTC Gives Users The Heads-Up On One X, One S Jelly Bean Updates

HTC and its One series of Androids have been all over the news this morning, upon the official announcement of the One X+, as well as the surprise reveal of the One VX. If you already jumped at the chance to pick up an earlier One model, we’ve got some news for you, too, upon HTC spilling the beans (no pun intended) on Jelly Bean for a couple of those handsets.

HTC has made it clear for months that Jelly Bean was on the agenda for most of its existing One-series Androids, but the lingering question has always been just when would it get around to delivering those updates. Today HTC gave itself some deadlines, assuring users that it would start distributing Jelly Bean updates for the One X and the One S by the end of October.

That timeline applies to the international versions of the handsets, and while Jelly Bean will be showing up for the US carrier variants eventually, we wouldn’t bet on any of those particular updates landing this month. November, though, sounds like a decent possibility.
