We’ve been hearing about Huawei’s Windows Phone 8 plans for quite some time and more recently a device believed to be the Ascend W1 is rumored to show up alongside a higher-end W2. So far the Windows Phone 8 game has players from Samsung, Nokia and HTC, in the order of OEMs unveiling their upcoming devices.
Huawei’s Chairman of Devices, Richard Yu, took it to the Chinese social network Weibo, and told us about the upcoming W1; new details unveil the fact that the W1, according to sources inside the company, will land towards the end of the year, between November and December. It will cost around 2,000 RMB ($320) and will be available in black, blue, pink and white flavors.
There are rumors talking about a possible September 25 unveiling but according to Richard Yu Huawei is trying to launch phones as they are unveiled; in the light of the above we might have to wait until November-December in order to see an event, if the information is accurate.
