Some were put off a bit by the revelation that Nokia’s optical image stabilization demo video was faked, but today we see a video on YouTube where “TheUltimat111” mounts both a Nokia Lumia 920 prototype and a Samsung Galaxy S III to a radio controlled car. He starts video recording on both then drives the car around while filming the whole process with another camera. After getting some sufficient movement from the radio controlled car, he dismounts the two phones and then plays back the video on a table with no cuts or editing in order to show the real on-screen difference in the video recording capabilities. You’ll see some camera shake when the car runs into some one’s foot, but overall the optical image stabilization does certainly seem to make for a much smoother video recording. Impressed?
