Apple’s event last week gave us many things: the iPhone 5, a new iPod touch, new headphones, a new iPod nano… everything but the rumored iPad mini. That wasn’t a huge surprise, though, because even with earlier suggestions that Apple might announce both the iPad mini and iPhone 5 at the same time, more recent rumors of slightly-delayed retail availability had it feeling like Apple might hold-off on the tablet news last week, and throw a separate shindig to announce the iPad mini at a later date. As we await news of that event, some new shots of the purported tablet arrive, this time showing a fully-assembled tablet.
It’s not clear if we’re seeing a powered-on tablet, or (possibly more likely) a dummy unit with a simulated screen, but that exterior looks pretty complete. If you were worrying that the tablet might lack a rear camera, as some rumors and leaked shots have claimed, that certainly doesn’t look to be the case here.
So, when are we going to get this puppy confirmed? October keeps getting mentioned, so maybe Apple will ride the wave of the iPhone 5 finally hitting stores with its iPad mini announcement in a nice one-two punch.
