Yesterday, we hooked you up with the details on when Apple’s pre-orders for the new iPhone 5 would open overnight. Why would someone stay up until past midnight just to get an order in? Because they sold out in less than an hour, that’s why.

We’ve heard that you might have some better luck trying to order directly from your carrier of choice, and for the moment at least, they do appear to still have models ready for launch-day delivery. With the rate Apple burned through its own, though, don’t expect these guys to last much longer, either.

Orders placed through Apple as of now are estimated to ship in about two week’s time. Did you get your order in before the first batch was gone? Did you place yours even though you won’t get delivery until closer to the end of the month? Let us know in the poll:
